After reading your fantastic blog and specifically the entry on 31st July, I got inspired and decided to cook soomething italian too!! So, I did something quite simple really, but always tasty! Although giving it to toddlers might not be a good idea, since it contains quite a bit of alcohol!
So, here is my recipie for a very yummy tiramisu (It will feed about 8 people, or 6 very hungry ones):
Ingredients: 3 eggs, a bit of salt, 150 g granulated sugar, 250 g mascarpone, about 30 sponge fingers, 60 cl of cold strong coffee and some cacao powder
Method: separate yolks from whites. Add the sugar to the yolks and whisk thoroughly until it’s quite creamy and white. Add the mascarpone and the marsala.
Beat the whites with a bit of salt until they form stiff peaks and add them to the mascarpone mixure.
Soak the sponge fingers in the cold coffee and place them at the bottom of a rectangular dish. Once the bottom of the dish is entirely covered with sponge fingers, pour half of the mascarpone batter. Cover the batter with another line of sponge
fingers soaked in coffee. And then pour the other half of the mascarone batter/. finish off by sprinkling cocoa powder at the top.
You’ll have to leave the dish at least 2 hours in the fridge before being able to enjoy it!
I took a picture of it but seem unable to download it on your blog. So, you”ll have to imagine it!
