My plan for dinner today was overruled by the boys, who wanted to make pizza.  At least it gave me a few minutes of peace while they walked to the shops to buy some mozzarella and basil.  Now was my chance to make some choux pastry.  Except that I then realised that we had no eggs.  Ho hum, what to do?  I realised that I really wanted to make choux because I wanted to bake something that I had piped.  I don’t get out much.

Viennese biscuits seemed like an obvious choice and I had a batch of pretty, melt in the mouth, biscuits in no time at all.  And then, almost as fast as I had baked them, they were gone…
